Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. It was a struggle to make ends meet when she got her first part in the acting world in Rachel's Room's main character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was the main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Leaving the series Grace wanted to appear on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In her teens, she began to work on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko alongside her twin brother. She then appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) as well as the drama Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination.
